After a long wait, the baby is finally here. The season 2 finale of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" was breath-taking and over-whelming.

Shailene Woodley plays a 15-year-old girl whose world turned upside-down when she found she was pregnant. Woodley's character, Amy Juergens, played the French horn in her high school band.

It was at band camp where she met Ricky Underwood, who is played by Daren Kagasoff, the father of Juergens' baby.

Ben Boykewich (Ken Baumann), who is in love with Juergens, will do anything for her, including supporting her in giving up the baby for adoption. But on the other hand, Underwood doesn't want to give up his baby.

Underwood finds himself falling in love with Juergens although he has been involved with Adrian Lee (Francia Raisa).

Before the baby was born, Underwood said he felt like he didn't deserve the baby and said he doesn't know if he can raise the baby or if he even should. But Boykewich told him that he "can't enter the world of fatherhood with that kind of attitude. Your son's going to need you."

Boykewich wants to be with Juergens but he knows the baby needs his father. "Together we have the potential to make a pretty good dad," Boykewich said to Underwood.

The last episode of the show revealed a side of Underwood that no one knew he had. Underwood was the kind of boy who only cared about himself. But when he held his baby boy in his arms for the first time, his heart changed and he knew he was going to take the responsibility for his actions.

The day after the baby was born Underwood skipped school to go visit his baby. "Hi, John, Daddy's here. I love you," Underwood said as he cradled the baby in his arms.

Juergens is forced to grow up and take more responsibility. She has to take on a job and learn how to become a mother for her baby.

Throughout the show, friends and family grew closer together. Different groups of people, like the "good" kids build a friendship with the kids who get into trouble.

The show helps educate young girls about the consequences of teenage pregnancy.

"The Secret Life of an American Teenager" shows how one night of a little fun might lead to a lifetime of parenthood. The show is inspiring and informs its viewers on how friends and family should support each other.
