The 2010 census forms will be mailed to more than 130 million addresses across the United States beginning in March of 2010, and census officials are looking to hire employees to help count the forms when they are returned.

The No. 1-ranked Midland College men's basketball team continues their undefeated season with an overall 23-0 record, 7-0 record in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

ECHS program receives positive feedback

An overall average 3.69 GPA, a program with 113 students and a positive response from parents are results following the first semester of the Early College High School program at Midland College, according to Jeanette LaBouff, ECHS principal.

Enrollment reaches all-time high

Spring 2010 marks an all-time high enrollment for Midland College. According to the office of enrollment management, the current spring total, combined with enrollment from fall flex entry courses (courses that begin after the regular fall semester started) and the winter interim session in December/January, means that MC enrollment for the spring reporting period totals 6,982.

Even with the abundance of technology in today's world, "teaching and learning is still a human endeavor," said Midland College (MC) President Steve Thomas, Ph.D., at the annual Teaching Excellence Award (TEA) ceremony.

MC freshmen outnumber sophomores

Midland College consisted of 5,340 students in 2008 with 4,503 freshmen and 837 sophomores, according to Tom Corll, MC's director of institutional effectiveness and planning.

"The number of freshmen and sophomore at MC during the 2008 school year is close to the number of students for the 2009-2010 school year," Corll said.
